Five days of cricket could not bring about any result. The team will now be heading for Mohali for fridays second test match after a 0-0 draw at Bangalore.

Ricky Ponting believed in repeating sydney performance by setting a huge target of 299 runs for the final day of the match which was quite unachievable with 83 overs to go. Australian attack was lacking any fire power to break the Indian middle order. Scoring was quite a difficult task on this pitch and after Viendra Sehwag departed quickly,Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Laxman held off Australian bowlers.

India's fantastic four were also under pressure and although Sachin, Laxman and Ganguly saved the day they didnt seem to be dominating the Australian Bowlers.
Viewed on the whole the tough fought match were like matches played in those old ancient days where low scoring play for full five days didn't bring about any result whatsoever.
