Jonathan Bairstow has signed a two year contract with Yorkshire. Bairstow junior has followed in his fathers footsteps by signing a two year contract.
Bairstow is the son of David Bairstow, the former wicketkeeper for Yorkshire. Jonathan who is 19 years old was the winner of the 2007 Wisden Schools' Cricketer of the Year award. He has played superb innings for the Yorkshire seconds, scoring 308 runs at an average of 61.60 in the Second XI Championship. He is happy to join the club on a full time basis.
"It is every boy's desire to play for this club and to join this club and sign my first contract is very auspicious to me " he said. "This is the oppotrunity to work hard and prove yourself and get into first team contention. Iam looking forward to work really hard and meet the challenges ahead."
