Although Zaheer Khan didn't rate Australian spinners much, Ricky Ponting believed Cameron White had exceeded his expectations in his debut cricket match. Whites only wicket was that of Sachin Tendulkar who drove to Michael Clarke at cover. Ponting was really positive about White and said "White had improved drastically and gone beyond his expectations although he didn't take many wickets."
According to him from what he'd observed, Cameroon had gained lot of confidence in his bowling, since this was the first test of his career, playing against world class players on foreign soil. "It is a really good experience for him and he could be a really good player for us in the future" he said.
The allrounder Shane Watson made useful contiribution in this cricket match and wicket keeper, Brad Haddin was 33 & 35 not out respectively. According to Ponting, if players like Watson and Haddin got experience at Test level it will be really good for them, considering the fact that there's been a lot of talk, about inexperienced guys coming here and it is these inexperienced guys, who have done really well in this game said Ponting.
Haddin really struggled in his gloves, while giving away 39 byes, but Ponting said he didnt want retired Adam Gilchrist in his team now "on that wicket it is very difficult with so many balls bouncing all around you" he said.
