Cricket News:

The opening cricket match of the Indian Cricket League has been finished in the 'darkness' of the night. Hyderabad Heroes won over Lahore Badshahs by 18 runs in the VJD method. Where at 10.57 PM, 6 overs was just played by Lahore Badshahs, the stadium has fallen into darkness for power failure that affected much at the surrounding area. For this while the match was finally called off at 11.40 PM.

There was brightness and fireworks at the simple and short opening ceremony.

The entertainment was first started by Abdul Razzaq with 2 smashing square cuts against Mohammad Sami's bowling attack in the 2nd over of the innings.

And Ambati Rayudu scored a magnificent fifty to put up a competitive score for the hosts. The flight of Rayudu over midwicket boundary against Shahid Nazir was a marvelous shot. Opening batsman Jimmy Maher was up at the other end and supported Him nicely. Rayudu's blasting hits have affected the home crowd to come into the stadium.

There was some disappointment for Saqlain Mushtaq. He bowled well enough at his first two overs and spent only 11 runs. But at his third over, Rayudu came to the striking end. And then? ….Two massive sixes: first one was over midwicket and the next one which was a doosra, sailed over long-off.

Another Pakistani great was seen in fire; Inzamam-ul-Haq. But had to be dim as well as the floodlights.  He punches Abdul Razzaq's one fuller length delivery on back foot through covers for a boundary.

Overall the power failure was a disappointment for all of cricket related people including the fans; this is a threat at the very starting point….
