Zaheer Khan was name Man of the Match in Bangalore for the first test cricket match against Australia. Not content with his all round efforts he attacked Australia's bowlers as being harmless throughout the contest
Zaheer said "since they can't take 20 wickets so they are on their backfoot. They are unable to get me or Bhajji (Harbhajan Singh) out so we have a big chance, and they are under pressure we realise it, so we are now looking towards the second game".
The teams will be leaving for Mohali on Tuesday. Australia couldn't dismiss India on the final day -since bad light cost them 10 overs after setting a target of 299.Zaheer said Australians had after their match used defensive tactics and their spin bowling was their major weakness." This is the first time I have seen Australians play such defensive cricket which is a good sign for the Indian side" he said."If on the final day pitch conditions the spinners could do us no harm than it shows how poor their spin attack is.Debutant Cameron White and part timer Michael Clarke together took just three wickets in the game.
Ponting retorted to Zaheer's charge " I don't agree to what he says in fact we were the ones who were trying to take the game ahead by playing aggressively. He may feel jolly on the inside if he wants but it doesn' mean anything to us."
Zaheer took six wickets for the match including 5 for 91 in his first innings along with his unbeaten 57.
